June 10, 2009
The beginning of our day was similar to previous days. We met more people and sat for our Irish history class to learn about the failed rebellions against England.
Our fieldtrip for the day was to visit the National Library in order to see the exhibition of the famous poet and Nobel Laureate, W. B. Yeats.
Since I have never studied or read any of Yeats' poetry or other works, I do not have much to say about this exhibit. The tour guide told us much of his personal life: his relationship with Maud Gone, the establishment of the Abbey Theater (the national theater of Ireland today), the revival of Irish literature, and his poem, Easter 1916, that inspired men to take part in the War of Independence.
P.S. The title of this entry are the words taken from his tombstone.
